MI citizen/Irish Hills waterkeepers | Incredible, secretative and relentless drilling in both Jackson CT (Irish Hills) with 40 wells drilled since 9/2010, and now 15 wells (to expand to 30) in Lenawee County MI since January, 2011 The Adrian Public High School District Board just signed mineral right exploration of the 127 acre school property which is located less than 100 yards from the Lake Adrian single public water source for the entire city-Adrian, MI.-pop. 21000. West Bay Exploration and SAVOY Energy have plans to surround the town and march down towards the OHIO line and onto NEW YORK. Four well farms have been built/expanded within a 6 mile distance northwest of town. I personally have watched the evolution of same beginning 2/15/2011 and ending on 4/15/2011 (3 days before the ASD Board signed) In 60 days. In following this, I can say it makes me sick to my stomach. There has been no offficial from the state, county or town interested in concerns of the citizens. In the month of March, over 4000 letters have been sent out to property owners in Adrian soliciting leasing/mineral rights. Public officials have not held any public meeting or forum to educate the interested public on the dangers of oil drilling/fracking. What can be done? I request your assistance, please |
