Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition
304-522-0246 PO Box 6753 Huntington, West Virginia 25773-6753 |
The Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, formed in 1987, is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to organize and maintain a diverse grassroots organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation of the environment through education, grassroots organizing and coalition building, leadership development and media outreach. Our work encompasses much of West Virginia. The structure of OVEC is a common one: volunteers / members, board of directors with officers, and staff members. What is uncommon is the committed participation of many ordinary citizens in OVEC, united for the common purpose of protecting the environment in which we all live. OVEC's board of directors is active. |

Gas Drilling Awareness Coalition (GDAC)
PO Box 275 Dallas, Pennsylvania 18612 |
We are an alliance of people working together for the protection of our communities and environment from exploitative natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale region of North East PA As Luzerne County citizens we are deeply concerned about the many problems hydraulic fracturing (gas drilling) (“fracking”) will bring to this populated and developed area. Some of us are landowners, some are rural dwellers, some live in neighborhoods and towns. |

United for Action
New York, New York 10017 |
We are a group of volunteers who shape public policy decisions by organizing and mobilizing groups of like minded citizens. Our current focus is to stop the process of hydraulic fracturing of gas wells in the Midatlantic States and Nationally. We are working to raise public awareness of the unacceptable risks posed by this process to our water, air, and mother earth, thus endangering our health and our lives.
