Highlands Preservation, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the historic and natural resources of the Hudson Valley region of New York. Highlands Preservation works with other non-profit groups to promote and protect the natural and human history of the Hudson Valley, and to foster a greater appreciation for the beautiful and unique open space areas that bless our hometown communities. Highlands Preservation also documents the human history of these areas so that the public can better understand those who preceded us on these lands, leading to a timeless kinship as responsible stewards.

How much of an area does the UDPC represent? UDPC has members from all over the country who are interested in helping to protect the Upper Delaware River. The area we are most concerned with is roughly from the Delaware Water Gap and north to the headwaters of the Upper Delaware River. Does UDPC tell people how to use their land? We don't have the right to tell you how to use the private property you own. We work with land owners to use smart planning practices as well as planning boards and local communities to strengthen ordinances to prevent unethical developers from taking advantage of our area. We believe that thriving business and protecting the environment can exist together.
