About Us Citizens for the Preservation of Middletown Valley (CPMV) is a grass-roots, non-political, citizen’s action organization seeking responsible and appropriate land use in Maryland’s agricultural and historic Middletown Valley. We are concerned about protecting our rich local history, our rural landscapes, and the environment here in Frederick County Maryland. CPMV was launched in January 2008 by local residents to research, educate and organize opposition to the Dominion Transmission (DTI) planned Middletown gas compressor facility.

Currently, Dakota Resource Council is the only organization working on fracking in North Dakota. We work with farmers, ranchers, and frontline communities in the western half of the state to empower voices and inspire action. Our foremost effort is disclosure. We are also engaging the eastern urban areas to form a unified state voice. We want people protected first, not corporations. Dakota Resource Council is a nonprofit, grassroots community organization. The mission of DRC is to form enduring, democratic local groups that empower people to influence decision-making processes that affect their lives. DRC works to protect North Dakota's land, air, water, rural communities and agricultural economy.
